Richard joined NCO Financial Investigative Services (FIS) in 1994. Over the years, he has served in a variety of roles for the firm, beginning as a collection sales representative and evolving to client sales department representative, credit reporting quality control representative and account executive. In his current role as a senior account executive, Richard is responsible for selling and servicing commercial, business owner and consumer credit reporting services for commercial entities. Although he works with virtually all companies that extend credit to other businesses, the majority of Richard’s clients fall within the manufacturing, wholesale and distribution industries.
Throughout the course of his career, Richard has become regarded as an expert on the credit decision process by both clients and colleagues. This has led to multiple instances of clients becoming more informed, and achieving greater peace of mind, about their financing. In one recent example, Richard helped a client that had expanded their markets from local to national levels by determining credit risk models in an effort to minimize their exposure with new customers. As a result, by examining the payment, legal and collection history of these unknown entities, his client was able to ship thousands of dollars in goods with a higher degree of confidence that they would be paid within terms. Beyond his client experiences, Richard has shared his expertise by authoring articles for the monthly magazine of the Michigan Green Industry Association (MGIA).
Prior to joining the NCO FIS team more than 17 years ago, Richard honed his skills at Sperry Sun Drilling Services (formerly Baroid Corporation and now a division of Halliburton) for nearly a decade. Most recently, he was responsible for the sales of all product lines to major oil producers in the New Orleans metro area. Today Richard attributes his success to his hard work, perseverance, positive attitude and compassion toward others.
Richard is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, minor in general business, in 1983. He was also a member of the university’s football team. Richard has been active in numerous professional and civic organizations since his career began. His past memberships include the Rotary Club, New Orleans Geological Society (NOGS), Society of Professional Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) and American Petroleum Institute (API). In addition, Richard was a Mandeville (Louisiana) Youth Sports council member and coach for nine years, a lieutenant of the Original Krewe of Orpheus and an advisory council member of the Frances A. Karnes Center for Gifted Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi.
